I started my Whole30 journey today for the month of September and excited to share my grocery haul on a budget! I’m really looking forward to some positive changes but I am a little nervous. I have been trying to plan meals (something I’ve never been good at) and have food stocked up. I ran to the store today just to make sure I had enough snacks for the week and was able to get a nice haul without spending a lot. Grocery Outlet is one of my favorite stores..if you haven’t been there you are missing out! I got a ton of healthy food for less than $50. I only had the girls with me so I was able to shop a little slower than when they are all 3 with me. 😉 Honestly, I almost always just do grocery pickup at Walmart. But for Whole30 I feel like I’m going to have to go into the store more often! Maren’s yogurt obvi isn’t Whole30 approved but it kept her occupied during the trip. I’m not against bribing.
The original reason I ran to the store was to get more Pop and Bottle mochas which I shared about yesterday. They were all out of them…ahhh! BUT I just found out Pop and Bottle has a subscription service that delivers them straight to your door. What. I did find some other yummy stuff though and it makes me feel like I just might be able to do this!
Everthing I got today
- a huge pack of chicken thighs
- La Croix
- Perrier water
- pumpkin seeds
- Sunny Fruit peaches & figs
- cutie oranges
- avocado oil
- almond butter
So this is everything I snagged that is Whole30 approved 🙌🏻 Hopefully. I’m still learning! I had to stop a few times in the store and google stuff to find out if I could have it or not. I was SUPER excited that La Croix are all good. 👌🏻 I stocked up on these and have never tried this flavor before.. melon pomelo?!
These Sunny Fruit snack bags that look delicious! The only ingredients are dried fruit and water. I also loved that each bag has 5 individually wrapped servings so they are perfect for taking on the go. I had a bag of figs today and I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back to the store soon for more of these.
My thoughts after the first day are that I’m feeling optimistic about it! I got super hungry mid morning after church and kind of panicked trying to find a healthy snack around! I had been worried that switch my diet was going to be expensive but I’m glad to know I can get Whole30 approved meals on a budget. Preparation is everything. Honestly, I thought I would feel less bloated and sluggish after today but I actually feel exactly the same. Someone needs to be patient lol. I have a really hard time when I don’t see immediate results on things. I’m going to stick with this though and I know it will be worth it!
